My name is Liberian for One Who Loves People...I have been told I live up the that meaning...
I consider myself to be fun-loving, joyful, and positive. I have been told that my smile lights up the room. I am hoping to meet a man who will not only make me smile, but light up my heart as well.
I am looking to meet someone with whom I can share a soul connection. A man who is caring, supportive, kind, giving and respectful. I am looking for a man whom I can respect and admire and he will do the same for me; someone who is open-minded, loyal and trust-worthy; a man who makes me feel loved, appreciated, and special. I consider myself to be a spiritual person and would like to share that spiritual foundation with my partner as well. I am also looking for a man who is secure in himself and not intimidated or threatened by my professional success. And yes, I do want to have a family and am looking for a man who is or strives to be family-focused.
My FAVORITES:
1) FOOD:
-I love going out to eat. I love discovering the ambience and energy of new restaurants. We are so blessed here in the Bay Area.
-Favorite food: Tapas, Peruvian being my favorite (Fresca, Pasion SF, Va Da Vi)
-Love Italian and Japanese as well
-I could do without Indian food....but maybe it was that 4 day Indian wedding a few years ago with EXCLUSIVELY Indian food that ruined that for me....
2) MOVIES:
FYI: This is a hard category for me. I literally own HUNDREDS of DVDS. Movies are my escape and I TRULY love TOO MANY of them.
-Whenever the Shawshank Redemption is on, no matter how many times I've seen it, I HAVE to watch, I literally CANNOT turn the channel. Same goes for Dirty Dancing.
-Classics: Alfred Hitchock is my all time favorite director (I credit my high school Fiction To Film class senior year). Notorious, North By Northwest, Vertigo, and Strangers on a Train are my favorites.
-Oldies but goodies: Blind Date (with Bruce Willis), The Goonies, Neverending Story, A Chorus Line: The Movie, Adventures in Babysitting, Jumpin' Jack Flash
-Action Thrillers: The Departed, The Bourne identity Trilogy, John Grisham thrillers like The Firm, What Lies Beneath
-Comedy: Old school Eddie Murphy stand-up (RAW), any Paul Rudd movie, The Hangover
-Romantic comedies: Love and Basketball, Love Jones, My Best Friend's Wedding, The Proposal
-Holiday MUSTS (I watch these EVERY holiday no matter HOW late it is in the season): When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, While You Were Sleeping, The Family Stone, Elf, The Holiday, Meet Me In St Louis, The Ref..Ahhh the list goes on (Did I mention I LOVE the holidays?!!)
3) BOOKS:
Well, if you read my lists above, you can probably gather that I don't read ALL that much...but when I do, I am ALL IN....the last book I read was Mindy Kaling's book IS EVERYONE HANGING OUT WITH ME? Also on my bookshelf: Sidney Poitier's The Measure of A Man (Sidney Poitier is not only my FAVORITE actor, but a truly amazing awe-inspiring individual. I simply adore him. And he reminds me of my dad, who passed earlier this year....); A Game of Character by Craig Robinson; The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison; The Awakening by Kate Chopin; A Belle In Brooklyn by Demetria Lucas
The first things people usually notice about me
are 1) My smile, 2)my laugh (Kinda loud, VERY contagious).
You should definitely leave me a message if
1) You can keep up with my tv/DVR schedules : )
2) If you don't mind my occasional urge to travel,
3) If you are cool with seeing a few live shows or comedy shows a month, and
4) If you are looking for a genuine, cute, loving, loyal supportive woman who is a good listener to spend time with...that's me.
