Hey there, I'm JD. While I'm not new to Philadelphia, I'm not a native either. I moved here three years ago and am enjoying my life to the fullest.
I'm a mix of athletic, a little nerdy, contradictorily both spontaneous and premeditated, and generally just a nice guy.
I'm currently working towards my PhD in chemistry at Temple. I spend a lot of time working and studying, but when I'm not in the lab I like to get out and have an adventure. I'm really good at mimicking accents, I like to play baseball in the summer and ski or snowboard in the winter, I love to travel, and I really like to cook and try new food. I've studied German for seven years, so I can have a pretty good conversation; also, my little brother is deaf, so I've also been learning sign language.
I'd like to meet someone who knows what she wants out of life. Granted, that doesn't mean I want to meet someone who has the next 15 years of her life planned down to the last minute detail; rather, someone who has an idea, but if a wrench gets thrown in there she can go with the flow. She needs to be open-minded towards the world, other cultures, and trying new things, especially since I have a deaf brother who was adopted from China. A touch of humor to match my own, maybe a little sarcastic, and of course fun. Someone who likes taking an evening or weekend adventure, or who can be just as happy spending a night in with a bowl of popcorn, a glass of wine, and a good movie.
