OK, so why do I feel like letting people write their own profiles is like letting the inmates run the asylum? ;-)
Anyway, getting away from my "unbiased" opinion of myself for some more factual stuff...I'm a New England transplant (avid Red Sox fan) who is newly moved to San Diego from the great Northwest, courtesy of the Navy. I'm not cursing my luck though, since the last time the Navy shipped me off it was to Iceland (seriously!) It was actually kind of a nice place, not nearly as cold as you'd think...and it beats the heck out of going to the desert! Like everyone else in the Navy I've been trying to get stationed here in SD forever...and now that I'm here it seems even more perfect than I'd hoped. I'm still kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop!
Never really thought I'd end up in the Navy, but have actually really enjoyed it so far. Here in San Diego I'm doing Flight Medicine again, which is pretty fun and easy (fliers will almost NEVER admit to being sick!). But I actually did my residency in Pediatrics and had been doing that for the last 4 years. Why Peds? Besides the fact that kids really crack me up most of the time (which probably says a lot about my maturity) to put it simply even whiny kids I can deal with...whiny adults...not so much!
Personality-wise I'm actually pretty laid-back and easy-going (sometimes to a fault) and a great listener (all assets in my line of work!). My sense of humor is heavy on the sarcasm and self-deprecation, and I love teasing (both giving and receiving). I was a useless Liberal Arts major in college (History), so I can be dragged to a play, lecture, museum, opera, ect. with only token kicking and screaming . Music...pretty boringly mainstream...what's worse I've caught that 80's pop music nostalgia that's going around...sad. (Side note, anybody know any good 80's cover bands in SD?)
My "perfect" match? Other than the physical attraction, someone sweet, smart, funny, and down-to-earth, with enough sass in her to poke fun at me when I have it coming (which can be quite frequent). Outgoing and energetic to balance out the worst of my easy-going nature, as well as curious and open-minded. Love of travel is a bonus. That's not too much to ask now is it?
