I grew up outside Chicago and will argue it is the greatest city in the world... agreed, the winter months are not awesome. However, the winter in South Bay doesn't really qualify so my second home is in Tahoe this winter. This way I am assured I will not go through withdraw from that white powder (aka snow, not the other white powder).
Since moving to California, little over a year ago, I have been exploring and traveling a lot. Hopefully this year will allow me to get to spend more time exploring closer to home.
I think its important to keep challenging yourself both both physically and mentally. I have been know to spontaneously enroll in a course to learn about a topic I am interested in. When it comes to staying physically active you can find me biking, running, skiing, hiking, etc whenever I have time to escape.
With my schedule I spend a lot of time traveling, but I can always find time to grab a drink or check out a new place in LA.
