I'm looking for someone who doesn't answer with "I don't know" if I ask "what should we do today?" It doesn't need to be constantly exciting, but we should definitely be enjoying what we're doing together. I'm always up for an adventure whether that be traveling to a foreign country, going to a new restaurant or bar, checking out a band, or trying a new dish. You don't have to love everything, but you at least need to try it.
I'm upfront and honest and hope that others are the same with me. I won't generally offer a compliment unless I truly mean it.
I'm looking to expand my great circle of friends. One of the greatest compliments that I have ever received is "your friends are awesome, but I wouldn't have expected anything else."
I was a D1 field hockey player in college so I love playing and watching sports. I'm still very connected to the team and to Cal sports in general. I'm pretty good about my work/life balance and am very active outside of work, but that may change for a bit with my recent promotion. I'm almost back down to having just one job. I would love to get back on the mountain, either backpacking or rock climbing, but most of my recent vacations have involved sun and water, which is not something that I'm complaining about.
I believe in being comfortable. Being comfortable with the one I'm with; being comfortable with my friends; ...eating at a hole in the wall or at a 3-hour Michelin starred extravaganza; ...pampered at a day spa or using that orange shovel to dig my own little "bathroom" in the back country; ...ordering an Ola Dubh 12 Year Special Reserve beer or a Bud Light (when I need a water round); ...wringing out my socks during a round of golf and trudging on or just laying in bed on a Sunday morning catching up on TV or the paper; and most importantly, being comfortable with myself so that I'm willing to go outside of my comfort zone in order to grow as an individual.
