I'll start by keeping it short and simple, cliff's notes style:
I'm from the Midwest and moved to NYC nearly 5 years ago. I love running, soccer and most other things that involve the outdoors. I add new stamps to the passport whenever I can, work hard but think balance is important, and prefer spontaneity but plan when its called for. I'm looking for someone fit, fun, honest and intelligent.
And here is the unabridged version for some extra reading material...
I took the plunge a few years ago from small town life to move to the big city, and now that I've had a chance to get my feet under me it'd be great to find someone to enjoy it even more with.
I'm made in the Midwest mold - independent and hard working but I try to keep things in perspective (and also a huge college football fan of course). I'm a firm believer in work hard, play harder, so NYC is a great place to be right now. I enjoy talking about anything from foreign policy to favorite Lost characters.
Staying active is important to me and I've done 3 marathons (with NYC being the latest) and plenty of other random races when I can. I play in a soccer league, have dabbled in golf, tennis, skydiving, and rafting to name a few, so I never keep a pair of tennis shoes far (yes, that's what we call them, and it's pop not soda). I have a competitive streak whether it's soccer or a game of scrabble, but I promise I'll still talk to you in the rare event that you beat me. If you have suggestions, I'm always willing to give something a try.
As for what I'm looking for, I don't like to be too specific because I've been surprised in the past, but a few good qualities are being athletic (joining me on a run is a plus, but it's ok if you just want to bike along side), kind, down-to-earth, intelligent, mature, and a healthy sense of adventure....
