ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

My philosophy is to live however you like as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. I respect whatever you want to believe but we'll get along much better if you're politically liberal and religiously agnostic. I'm an unapologetic sapiophile -- smart is all kinds of sexy. And yes, I do find it pleasingly ironic that I had to look that up. :)

I love to experience the delight of creative discovery, read anything which entices curiosity and experience mind-tingling conversations. I'm fascinated with learning/science related topics, and I want to get into travel and see more of the world. I love the theater and the symphony. I love watching movies at home or popping out to my favorite lunch spot or eventually trying that new crepe place I only remember when I drive by.

I truly love my field. It hardly seems like "work," especially when it's creative, conceptual and fulfilling. I love diving into creative challenges and developing satisfying solutions. I know I'm lucky that I get paid to do what I love. I'm stable and responsible although I can be very silly and welcome all kinds of silliness. I'm all for staying in shape but for me exercise is something that happens when I'm out having fun. Living in LA it sometimes feels like I'm the only one without a gym membership.

I'd love to meet someone who will push my boundaries but respect my limits and want me to do the same. I'm usually draw to seek interesting pursuits that stretch different creative muscles. Diving into hobbies, discovering new bands, trying different cultural eats, fun conversations with friends, being silly and sharing laughter, perusing museums and galleries, lounging in the sun with a big glass of lemonade, enjoying a documentary, walking along the beach, hiking in the hills, wandering around someplace with cool shops peeking in the windows.

I love creative pursuits and stimulating conversation. I love feeling the wonder of science, nature, technology and cool architecture. Let's go to a museum, see a concert in the park, fly across the country to see whale sharks in Atlanta. Or maybe we can try this new crepe place I know about.

For fun:

I moved here three years ago but I'm still exploring LA. I like discovering new restaurants like my favorite Tapas place in Santa Monica. I like to ride my beach cruiser which I swear I will ride on the beach one day.

Favorite hot spots:

I like the restaurants in Beverly Hills (I know a great brunch place) and the beach in Santa Monica (if the parking gods are smiling).

Favorite things:

I like Downton Abbey, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under and Arrested Development. I like bands from O.S.I. to Patrick Watson. I love trying new restaurants, and exploring aquariums and natural history museums.

Last read:

I read "Water for Elephants" which is much better than the movie. I like Bill Bryson's books like "A Walk in the Woods" and "A Short History of Nearly Everything." I liked "Life of Pi."
