I've recently reactivated my profile here on Match; it all looks relatively up-to-date, but I'm still in the process of updating!
I'm looking for someone to date or to build a broader network of friends in the area- either would be fine with me. I don't expect miracles on a first date- I want to laugh and have a good time, and if we both enjoyed ourselves, pick it up from there and see where things go.
If you see my profile and think we might get along as friends, email me; likewise, I may drop you a line if I think we might.
I have my own car and I'm fine with commuting 30-45 minutes to do something, or hopping on the train and getting downtown as well.
My friends are all straight and mostly married with children or engaged, so I don't get out to gay bars or other social places where I'm likely to meet potential dates or new friends. Granted, I'm not entirely sure a gay bar is where I would *want* to meet a potential date, but the moral of the story is that it's easier to meet new people online instead of something uncomfortable for me, like going to a bar/club/event on my own and introducing myself to strangers.
I'm just as comfortable going out as I am staying at home.
Horror is at the top my list for movie genres, followed by sci fi and action. Comedies are ok as long as they smartass / wisecracking kinds of comedy and not Will Ferrell comedies. I would be fine if I never watched another romantic comedy again.
My ideal guy has a sharp wit and thinks quickly on his feet. He cracks jokes and uses humor to build rapport. Personality and a killer smile are more important factors than looks.
My family is important to me and a big part of my life. I'm the younger out of two kids. My parents have been married for 31 years, and I feel lucky to have them both still around and together.
Feel free to drop me a line or say hello anytime.
