Well here I am on match for probably the same reason as many other people. Work has gotten increasingly busier and I don't have as much time to meet people out at bars etc. I figured this was a great way to meet people outside of my usual circle of friends.
I'm pretty confident with who I am at this point in my life. I've finally found my niche with respect to my career and just started a new job that I'm very excited about. I left corporate america and worked for a startup for the past year and a half. It was an interesting experience but I missed knowing that I was going to get paid every two weeks:-)
I've been living in the city since shortly after college. I lived on the UES, moved to the UWS and then moved back to the UES 2 years ago. I live right next to the park now and I just love it. I know the UES isn't exactly 'cool' but I like how quiet my neighborhood is and I like escaping the craziness of the city when I come home. I grew up about 50 miles west of the city, out in horse country. People who aren't from NJ don't really know what beautiful land exists out there. I was really lucky to grow up in such a beautiful place. Of course I wanted to live in a big housing complex growing up so that I would have friends nearby. I wonder how many times my parents rolled their eyes when I begged to have neighbors!
For fun....up for pretty much anything. I am pretty active so in the summer I'm often finding something fun to do in central park or heading out of the city for a hike or a weekend at the beach. Being active in the winter is a little tough here....I'm hoping to get out west to ski this year. Last year was the first year in many that I didn't ski so I have to make up for it with a big trip this year. I love to travel! I was lucky to spend a couple of summers/semesters abroad so I have a great appreciation of experiencing other cultures.
I'm usually out a few nights each week with friends...meeting up for drinks or trying new restaurants. The great thing about this city is that there is always something fun to do. I like going out but enjoy a night in as well. I don't really feel the need to stay out super late these days as there is too much to do during the day. I'm not sure when this transition happened but I don't miss those 4AM nights.
Well that's about it for now. Email me if you'd like to learn more!
