Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this. So here is a little about me… I was born and raised in Southern California and I try to spend as much of my free time outside as possible. Like most people in Southern California, I have a lot of hobbies and interests. In fact, I probably have too many. When I am not working I am almost always looking for fun and adventure in one form or another and I find a lot of that fun and adventure in amazing but often desolate locales. Or conversely, I find myself in very loud venues where it is hard to have a conversation with someone I just met. As a result, I thought I’d give this a try.
I know a few words and pictures is not a lot to get to know someone by, but I suppose it is a start. So I’ll do my best to describe myself (I am measuring this description by whether my friends would agree with it, however, I sure hope they never find it). First, my family and friends are paramount to me. I'll do just about anything for the people I care about. I believe that I am very loyal, upfront and honest person. I try my best to help people out and genuinely enjoy doing so. I’ve worked very hard for everything I’ve ever achieved and learned to be self reliant early in life. I've been fortunate enough to study in Europe and spend a lot of time in Mexico and Central America. I am happy with who I am, but I am constantly trying to progress. I work to live, not vice versa. I believe life is best when shared and I am eager for the opportunity to share some of the unique experiences and skills I have learned with someone special. I am also endlessly curious about all things and want to learn everything I can from the people I meet. I have strong political feelings about most issues, but I (usually) know when to shut up. I probably over-analyze a lot of things, but consequently I am generally prepared for most situations. I think I’m a pretty responsible person, but I am definitely not afraid of a good time. I’ve made most major decisions in my life based on surfing. Punctuality is not my strength, but I am never late or absent from something important. Good music is pure magic to me and I relentlessly seek it out (let’s go see a show!). I also regularly force my friends to listen to me play guitar (although I doubt they find it as magical as I do). I don’t eat as healthy as I should (working on that), but I rationalize it with a lot of exercise. I have learned the hard way that I am actually not indestructible, and I have broken and rehabilitated myself several times. I love history, as well as astronomy and constantly ponder our meaning in this world. I can play darts right and left handed. I’m good at fixing mechanical things. I prefer crunchy peanut butter. I feel like I have just said “I” way too many times. Feel free to drop me a line if there is anything else you want to know.
I am pretty open minded about what I am looking for in a “match.” I suppose having a lot of common interests with someone would make things easy. And I will admit that I am a big sucker for anyone that plays an instrument or is athletic. However, I always appreciate meeting new people and being exposed to new things. So rather than have a set idea that someone would have to meet, I am most concerned with chemistry (which I strongly believe can only be determined by actually meeting someone offline). To me it is more important to be able to enjoy someone’s company when there is nothing particularly exciting going on. It is easy to have fun when being entertained, but it is special when you can have fun doing nothing at all. That said if you are my match, you are probably going to enjoy doing exciting things.
