After quite some time on this site its day are numbered. It just hasn't worked for me probably because of my somewhat unique situation. I lead a very, very active life style, far more active than other men my age. While I maintain an international consulting practice and travel abroad at least a few times a year, not to mention many times across the country on domestic projects, I still have time to pursue my varied interests on a regular basis. They include underwater and wildlife photography, tennis, fresh and salt water fishing, bird hunting in Mexico (I eat what I shoot), rescuing domestic and exotic animals as well as wildlife for government and private agencies (local and national), responding to lost people call-outs with my K9 Search team, exploring the rain forests and dry forests of South America, Africa, islands of the South Pacific, and anywhere that wilderness remains, sailing, and many more outdoor activities. I also have cultural interests, know Europe like the back of my hand, as well as many more remote counties (well over 50) around the world. I am highly educated and live by my intellect and not my emotions.
I enjoy these activities continuously, not occasionally. With a 98 year old Mom still going strong, I expect I will maintain this life style for many more years. With my good genes, healthy living habits and good medical support, I am taken for 50 instead of 70. Unfortunately, women of my age simply do not seem to be able to enjoy the same pace of life. Since my divorce from a seven year marrage in 1995 I have come close but not succeeded in finding the right partner to share in a family way..
It would be wonderful to find an independent, self-confident and reasonably attractive woman to be my partner. Age and economics are not the issues, though granted it would be great to find somebody who is also economically settled and youtfhfully attractive., Being slender, fit and loving to challenge life are issues. The other qualities desired are obvious so I won't list them.
During my adult life I have been a hollywood celebrity, an international jet setter, fine arts collecter, a business man and playboy living abroad, a top level exective in national professional organizations, a volunteer for a dozen ore more civic organizations, a father to my chidren, a faithful husband, and an expert marksman (just wanted to see if you are paying attention). I can say "been there,done that" to many experiences and places, but my enthusiasm for exploring the world, its cultures and activities and repeating those I have enjoyed previously has never diminished.
This site doesn't take much time and effort. It has produced some very fine friends. But whatever the right formula is, Match hasn't been able to deliver it. In a few months you won't find me here any more. My guess is that there are simply not enough younger women who find this profile credible, not enought older ones who can fit the match, and not enough of any age who are not intimidated and have the credentials or potential to move into my life. I can't say I haven't enjoyed the ride, but it looks like it is time to invest elsewhere.
Am I right? Or are you out there? Understand please, I am not looking for Wonder Woman, just a person who has the same value and enthusiasm for an active life style as I, reasonably educated, happy with herself, and of good character. With the thousands listed on Match, one would think that is not hoping for too much.
PS. Can't resist mentioning my more recent accomplishment. This summer I set a new record for climbing to the top of Maragegy Rain Forest Mountain in Madagascar. Better yet, my guide and eight bearers helped me to find and film the rare white Sifaka Lemur. If you haven't had several Ringtail Lemurs jump in your canoe
