Who would ever have thought a life gone so far off-script could be this rewarding and filled with joy?
I live this quirky and charmed life, full of adventurous expeditions into the arts and the environment. I have settled down a bit after much wanderlust, and have such a positive outlook mainly derived by surrounding myself with positive, inspiring people.
Honestly, I am just a big-hearted guy who loves his mom and cares deeply about old fashioned ideals like sincerity and integrity. Beneath it all though, I am just a big goof who wears mismatched socks and loves irreverent humor.
More than one person recently has said I possess a sense of serenity that immediately puts people at ease. While I will always be an excitable free-spirit who has backpacked and scuba dived his way around the globe (a few times), I really just want to look into one woman’s eyes and know that I am “home”. Yes, for a guy who always wears his heart on his sleeve and who once thought it was his job to save the world, I now enjoy the simple pleasures life offers: little dogs sleeping on my pillow, giggling kids playing in sprinklers, old timers telling rambling tales, big puffy clouds enticing my daydreams, and so on.
A rare combination of country boy work ethic with a passion for the outdoors (think northern Idaho) and a developed big city refinement (fifteen years in San Francisco) created in me an amiable nature, but I am not interested in just “getting along” with someone. I am extraordinarily optimistic that I am going meet a woman whose similarities befriend us and whose differences intrigue and challenge me, one who invites my generous and considerate nature to flourish.
-- I will cook if you will dig through my vinyl collection and keep the music playing
-- I will pack the picnic basket if you promise to get in the water when we go to the beach
-- If you forgive my irrational love of the Lakers, I will take you to the ballet. (ok, that’s cheating since I just went to the Russian ballet tonight on a solo adventure, October 2nd Swan Lake)
-- I will take you to concerts if you will get up and dance (10/7 Florence and the machine, hollywood bowl. 10/12 David Byrne, Symphony hall. 10/17 Neil Young, hollywood bowl. 10/21M. Ward, Orpheum.) Fun month, like most.
-- While I ultimately want a relationship, there is no hurry. Besides, I give great date. It's a big world, let's go explore it
Any-who, good luck everyone, play nice and share your toys!.
