Yeah, fall is finally here, my favorite season! I embrace the scent (and occasional drink) of hot buttered rum (must be Black Crow brand- they make the best Hot Buttered Rum scented candle), the transition from warm to crisp weather, the crunchy colored fall leaves, fresh home-made apple pie and gingerbread men cookies with red-hot eyes and buttons. Time to unpack the boots, warm cozy chunky sweaters, scarves, and afghans. Oh, and I just discovered gourmet marshmallows made with lavendar at a local farmers market. I was a bit skeptical at first, but they turned out to be very tasty! They'll be delicious in hot cocoa! Ok, now let's move on.
I was born and raised in Orange County (5th generation OC) and recently relocated to the Bay Area. Although I briefly lived in SJ while attending college many years ago (BA in English), I would like to get reacquainted with this area. Since moving here, I have yet to get out more. I work in Human Resources, which sometimes involves some researching and investigating- can be quite interesting at times!
I am not looking to jump into anything immediately without thought. This requires time and getting to know each other. I am hoping to meet a nice, outgoing, energized, positive, and intelligent gentleman who has diversity in his activities and interests, someone who has a passion for living life to its fullest, a sense of fun, adventure and humor, someone who shows kindness and respect towards women and others, someone with strong confidence, class, and manners, a true gentleman.
Also, he must have a strong interest and motivation in living a healthy lifestyle, including fitness and well-being. This is very important to me. I am working my way back to exercising 5-6 times a week (due to a sports injury) and it would be great to be around someone who is encouraging, active, and not a frequent "couch potato". I am steering towards aquatics, but still enjoy the eliptical and would like to return to running and jogging. I recently started going to an Aqua Zumba class, very fun! I also started lap swimming, very invigorating.
I am confident, have a great sense of humor (occasionally wicked), a quick-wit, will come back with a great response or story- great "survival skills" to have when you come from a large family. I love getting together with my siblings and cousins! We laugh and crack up at just about everything, we can go a long time without seeing each other, and are able to pick up where we left off. I have been told by family, friends, and associates that I have a great phone voice; I sound nice, polite, pleasant to listen to, and even ladylike. I am very comfortable in different social settings, from a fun sporting event to a nice elegant dinner and night out on the town as well as being comfortable wearing anything from a baseball cap and jeans to an evening gown or cocktail dress.
I, along with my sisters, was raised to be a lady with manners, class, and grace. My mother is very "old school" in her ways, which is something that I inherited. She is still known to say "For God's sake, put some lipstick on!" if she catches her daughters going out in public "undone". My favorite style icons are Jackie Kennedy, Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn- very timeless and classic; Diane Von Furstenberg- I love her wrap dresses and strappy heels- fun!
A surprising fact about me: I know how to play darts (metal, not the plastic, flimsy kind), though it's been a while, I still have a pretty precise aim. I had some other surprising facts listed, but my Internet connection was lost along with my edits. I'll add more as soon as they come back to me.
Well, there you have it!
