I moved back to south Florida after I graduated for a job (can't believe it's been more than two years). Professionally, south Florida has everything I need. Personally, not so much. I am not really into the club scene, and the people here aren't exactly known for their warm hospitality. So where does a gal go to meet people? Why Match.com, of course (insert depressed sigh here).
I am happy, active and love being outdoors. Nothing sounds worse to me than spending a beautiful day on the couch. I love college football - Go Gators! I read all the time (huge history buff) , and I actively follow politics and world affairs. Country music is my favorite. I have great parents who have been married for almost 30 years, and I am lucky that they live 5 minutes away. I also have the best dog- I know you've probably read that one on a 1000 profiles, but I couldn't help it.
I do tend to have a type, and that type is "real man." None of this hair-straightening, tanning-bed-bronzed, have-more-shoes-than-me metro males who seem to have invaded south Florida. Call me old fashioned, but traditional gender roles are important to me- I like my man to be the man in the relationship. It may be a long shot for down here, but my ideal man would be a southern gentleman with a similar background and values. The whole "opposites attract" theory doesn't really apply to me.
I have a good job and a good education and am not really interested in dating someone who does not have the same. I don't mean to sound snotty, but I'm not here to waste my time or yours.
