I remain optimistic, yet a bit skeptical about this "romance by catalogue" approach, but heck, my work doesn't get me out that often. Maybe you can change that? Instead of putting down a list of wants, I'll just write a little about myself: For the most part I am a creative being, and have been involved in the arts for a long time (this year has been especially productive!). However, I do have a job-job in sales and marketing that I enjoy. I've lived in NYC and LA about equal time, and though I was born in Southern Cal, most people think I am more of an East Coast guy and I tend to agree.
I like to think I am a nice person with empathy being a main component. I'm good in the leadership role, having been there many times (benevolent yet firm, diplomatic yet willing to take a risk). I put "not sure" about wanting kids, and though it's not a deal breaker, I wouldn't mind just going for it in the kid department with the right person, even at my ripe age.
I keep in shape, play sports and like physical activity, but I think it's just as important to keep the mind and soul exercised as well. (As I write that last sentence I am realizing that I probably need a little more workout on the soul.)
I can be sarcastic, funny or even goofy, but I usually reserve the goofy part for that certain someone. I'm not lonely, but I am alone right now, having gone through a brief and disastrous marriage a few years ago. Life is good though and I have no complaints. No risk, no reward, right? Moving on...
Not a big believer in long emails (I could get a pen pal for that) and phone chats (we're becoming buried in the hand held devices) to "see" if there is a spark, cause there's no actual "seeing" involved. I have to experience the live expression, read the unspoken and hopefully enjoy the interaction. A couple of emails, a phone call (or two) and we're either ready to meet or we're not, right? Oh, one other thing, if your life is too "busy" and you can't squeeze anything in... let's just skip it. I'm not interested in being filler... just sayin'. Otherwise, good luck with your search!
