So what will catch your eye in a profile? Seems most start with the attributes that should dazzle and attract. I opt for a different intro. I will give you the basics on one of the more embarrassing moments in my life and let your imagination fill in the rest.. It was years ago in college and involves a toga, bottle of wine, blind date, one leg going completely numb (no circulation) while sitting on the floor at the Roman feast and the need to replenish the wine which required standing up (with no feeling in one leg). What happened next was excruciating or hilarious depending on your point of view and where you were sitting!!!
So who am I? Let’s give speed profiling a try! Born and raised in a small Wisconsin farming town (youngest of 5 kids), came to LA to go to USC where I was the starting center on the football team (ok, it was my fraternity flag football team and we sucked!). Got an Accounting degree (was a promising actor but when that accounting bug bites, you gotta go!) and then went into business. I’m a partner in a firm that buys and advises distressed businesses. I was married for 13 years which ended in 2000. No kids (tried all that science had to offer, but no luck). Not happy about that, but life happens. Been close to marriage a couple times since but did not work out. Breathe!
If you like intelligent conversation laced with humor then I am at least worth a cup of coffee. I would imagine our first series of dates would include The Comedy and Magic club, sushi, walks on the beach, a movie, the Groundlings/ComedySportz, a great dinner at some cool restaurant, a concert if we can agree on the artist (I love the Santa Barbara Bowl). Bottom line: fun and discovery. We might even do something you would like to do!! (please, can we hold off on the opera?).
I don’t take life too seriously, but I also don’t take serious things lightly. I am looking for that connection that makes any discussion, no matter how trivial, seem brilliant. I want to find someone whose smile is always in my mind, whose eyes are filled with life and whose passion excites. You should be outgoing, self-reliant, engaging, spontaneous and self-sufficient. You have a good self-image and are focused on really enjoying life. While we all have baggage from our past, I believe mine could be described as “carry-on” and I am looking for the same.
It would be great if you liked golf and/or tennis, but we can find plenty of other compatible activities....... Have a healthy respect for others while still having a slightly warped sense of humor. If you are up for some fun and want to smile, then let's connect. As Jackson Browne said "We'll fill in the missing colors in each other's paint-by-number dreams". BYOB (Bring Your Own Brush)..
