Wisps of who I am...please forgive me if this sounds lame, I'm pretty sure I'm more interesting in person ;P
Ghandi's famous quote, "Be the change you wish to see in the world" really resonates with me. I want to change the world and believe I can do that best by being the best version of myself I can be everyday, hopefully spreading joy and laughter along the way. I have a huge passion for good clean food. I love to shop, cook and eat healthy, organic food for myself and anyone else who's willing.
I love anything that tickles and stretches my mind: theater, movies, art, music, conversation, nature, etc.
I'm a KQED/NPR junkie, I would watch Jeopardy, Discovery Channel and Nat Geo if I had cable. Nerd alert, i know. But I also love Strangers with Candy, Big Bang Theory, Pixar movies and anything involving Will Farrell or Vince Vaughn...so the spectrum of what I can be entertained by is pretty wide, I think :)
Even though I sometimes laugh at the pointlessness and commercialism of it all, I love watching sports. Favorites are Stanford football and Sharks hockey with Giants baseball close behind. I spent every Fall Saturday of my childhood on the Stanford campus at football games so it's a very happy place for me. I also love playing team sports, just joined an indoor soccer team a few months ago and am also going to start playing outdoor soon. 2011 was the first year I attempted a solo sport: running. I did a few races and am now dabbling in triathlons. I enjoy challenging myself physically.
Nurturing and learning from children has been a part of my life since I was 9 years old. Their purity and playfulness is so inspiring to me. I can't wait to have kids of my own, to build a family built on love, curiosity, laughter and a dedication to make the world a better place.
What else? I can be inspired to be very social, but I'm also perfectly happy entertaining myself. I'm a teacher by nature and profession. I've been trying to meditate regularly for almost ten years. It hasn't happened yet, but the effort has quieted my mind and improved my spirit. I love all types of music but am kind of musically retarded--ask me about that later.
Oh yes, and what about you? The vision I have for my man is that that he wants to be a husband and a father, that he makes me laugh and laughs when I try to make him laugh, that he wants to protect me from the scary and difficult things in life, that he sees sexuality in my tenderness and vulnerability (not only in high heels and noises you'd hear in a porno), that he wants to choose health and happiness everyday, and that he will commit to spend our entire life's adventures together. That's not too much to ask, right?!? A girl can dream...
