Originally from the midwest but was smart enough to know that there had to be somewhere better to live. So after college I moved to the bay area and have lived here for well over 25 years and have every intention of staying. I love the area and all that it has to offer and only wish there were more days in the week to enjoy it all. I work indoors so try to spend as much time as possible out of doors when I'm not at work. Hiking locally in the east bay parks is almost always part of my weekends and when time permits on the weekends exploring some of the other great hiking in this area is always enticing. I'm also a runner and you can usually find me running with Team in Training on Saturday mornings. I've been really enjoying trail running lately. Combines two of my favortie things - hiking and running. Who knows, maybe an ultra marathon is in my future?
I also enjoying just going to the farmers' market on Saturday mornings and then working in my yard and taking my dogs for a walks.
Just like a lot of people, I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for but I'll know it when I see it. Certainly someone who enjoys the outdoors and likes dogs is important. I'm pretty low maintenance realtionship-wise and don't want a relationship that is smothering to either side. I don't think an intense connection with someone requires you to spend every moment together. In the end I'm looking for someone that makes me more the person I want to be when we're together.
I think that sometimes opposites attract but find that for me more harmonious relationships are with people with similar belief systems. So liberal political views are important to me in a partner as is sharing a similar value systems. I value people and experiences and not things which I sometimes think is at odds with the area I live in.
