I'm an outgoing, open-minded, low maintenance, sassy, loyal, honest, east coast, take it as it comes kinda girl. I believe in the work hard, play hard motto and not sweating the small stuff. I like fun. I consider myself (as do others) to be fairly normal although I like green peppers but not red, orange, or yellow ones. I've been wearing a lot of green, rocking my record collection and mountain views, and thinking about where and when my next vacation will appear. I'm planning to swim some glacial lakes in western Slovenia next summer, it looks amazing. I eat weird fake meat. I expect you to make fun of me for it but no I don't expect you to try it. I eat some animals, not all. I'm known throughout the land for wearing wife beaters, t-shirts, and boots but have an ample supply of dresses that I don quiet often. I drive a standard, am totally fixated on the idea of getting a late '70s FJ40 Land Cruiser, and once flew to Vegas for 12 hours to see Primus. Classic Rock was my first love but I do have a thing for old metal and hair bands. But really I just like good music, regardless of the type (for the most part). Recent additions to the record collection include Aretha and Master of Puppets. In various lives, I worked for a non-profit in Boston, taught English in Costa, did community service in the DR and on the Navajo Nation, and worked in bars in NYC while going to grad school. Currently, I nerd out on train talk (and other super cool things). While incredibly frustrating at times, working on high speed rail projects is super awesome. I'm sorry but you will have to watch this excitement if you're going to hang with me. I am a firm believer in the giving of time to those in need; I originally went to grad school to work in the low-income housing and homelessness advocacy world. I definitely don't do service activities as often as I should or would like. I was a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for a year (I even passed a federal background check!) but she hit that age where I just wasn't cool anymore. After living in NYC, I've been pretty happy with lots of sunshine and seeing what I've got in me mountain style. I definitely don't go as often as I would like but also don't have plans to leave the Big D so in due time I suppose. I'm pretty new to it but I'm working on the off roading thing. My Jeep seems to be happy on the trails. However, I am a water baby and wish I could hear the ocean more often than I do. Swimming is my passion/obsession and I go the distance 3-5 times a week. I may not be faster than you but guarantee I can out swim you. My ultimate challenge on my personal quest for greatness is outstanding but I have achieved every other swimming goal I have set for myself. I cannot be shy about it, these are some of my biggest personal accomplishments. When I do hit the bars, I prefer Irish ones as opposed to clubs or bars that I have to wait, pay, or dress to get in. I definitely enjoy the shadey spots too, what can I say. Please don't ask how I can live in NYC or listen to Primus. NYC is part of me and the Claypool freakshow is one of my favorites. I am a strong supporter of letting the flag fly sometimes.
