If I could have dinner with any three people from any time, I would cordially invite: Douglas Adams, Oscar Wilde, and George Carlin.
I don't really know how to describe myself because it requires a fair amount of "stepping-outside-of-myself" while still being my Self, but I'll try to give it a go.
I recently, switched careers, and have never been happier. I work as an Art Therapist (with Elementary-aged school children). I absolutely love my jobs, and my adorable little superstars.
Stuff I Like: Sunsets, water (beaches, lakes, ponds, brooks, creeks), Post-its! I love how many colors and sizes they come in. My desk looks like a paper rainbow threw up all over it. Gustav Klimt's artwork, Art Nouveau, Stained glass windows in bars that have been bought off of churches, translating poetry, writing and performing on stage (think Def Poetry Jam). Central Park in the summer, especially by the man-made like, Fashion (looking at magazines and spotting trends even though I rarely shop- who has the time?) Kids (other people's kids): I love running around playgrounds, blowing bubbles, drawing and talking to kids. I used to teach Art at a Private Armenian school, and it was so much fun getting to talk to kids because they're often so much more insightful than adults. The problem is people don't know how to "deal" with kids. Just treat them as you would anyone else, and you'll be surprised to see they can be very mature and reflective.
Nail polish. Paint. M&Ms- basically, anything that's visually displayed and merchandised like the color-wheel.
Boats, whether it's Motor, Sail of Jet Ski, nothing compares to the feeling of freedom I get when I'm under a cloudless sky, gazing out into the deep blue horizon. My uncle was a European sailing champion, so I grew up around that culture. I haven't been on a sailboat in years though (sad), but even now, when I look back the one thing that always stuck out to me as a kid was his temper. Most vividly, I remember him constantly shouting the word, "luffy".
I like to cook. I grew up watching/helping my grandmother's cook (old-school French cuisine and some Northern Italian). However, I enjoy trying random recipes, and I love entertaining. I make things from scratch because if you're going to go through all the effort and care, why not do it right? Plus, I feel like modern convenience methods are cheating. Grandma, still made me mince onions using a knife instead of a food processor, and knead dough by hand.
One day, I would love to own my own seaside bar/restaurant. Small-joint with character, Tiki-bar, relaxed atmosphere. I am an Aquarius, so water has some kind of weird, natural, and calming power over me.
You...
I don't really have a type. As long as you are kind, treat people with respect and decency, have your own interests, aren't an egomaniac, crazy jealous or constantly searching for an argument; I encourage you to wink (the female equivalent of wink is: batting an eyelash), or shoot me a complaint, comment, observation, statement, question, or concern to start a conversation.
