I'm the oldest child of 3, maybe that's why I have such a passion for teaching. I've wanted to be a teacher since 1st grade, when I would set up "school" for the neighborhood kids in my basement. With lots of hard work and dedication, I am now living that dream. While teaching may not offer the highest financial rewards, the "high" I get from making that connection with a student who is struggling makes it all worthwhile. My profession consumes much of my life and I am dedicated to my kids. They always keep me entertained and give me great stories to share; but don't judge me just from my career, my life is so much more than that.
I enjoy the motivation of working out and trying new physical challenges, from aerobics to Zumba. Fitness has been a priority in my life for a while now and I enjoy the release of stress and the endorphin rush of a good gym session. I try all sorts of things from running, biking, and various workout classes. Right now rock climbing is "peaking" my interest.
On my vacations I love to travel and explore new areas from the beaches to the mountains, anywhere new is intriguing. I have been on a handful of vacations but not to a variety of places; I've still got lots of the good 'ol US to see!
My family is very important to me. I'm lucky that my parents are still in Michigan close-by with Moose our yellow lab. I travel often to see my sister in North Carolina and my brother in Chicago; by the way Chicago on St. Patricks Day is the best! My tastes in music are very diverse, you may find me at a Carrie Underwood concert or rocking it out on a weekend at Pine Knob, (oops sorry DTE!) with Halestorm or godsmack. Detroit is a great town for watching sports, Tigers Stadium, Ford Field, but especially the "Joe." Those hockey boys are going to break my heart if they don't start playing soon.
I'm looking for someone that would enjoy the adventure of life with me; a partner who is passionate about their own career and who can bring honesty, a positive outlook on life, and a willingness to reach for it all.
So if you see a girl in a small SUV with a bike strapped to the back, music turned up, always in a hurry (never enough time) give me a wave, who knows it might be this cool chick named Kate. :)
