I'm a down-to-earth, practical kind of girl with an eclectic streak and diverse tastes in music and art and food. I love NPR, foreign films, sci-fi movies, small dinner parties, and doing Crossfit. I do a lot of crafty things: I make stained glass and sew a lot - mostly fun costumes for Halloween and Mardi Gras and Dickens on the Strand and the Art Car Ball. I'm a great gardener and a _terrible_ piano player (Bach shrieks in his grave every time I pull out his sheet music). Most people don't realize I'm actually a tiny bit shy (I'm a librarian so it's almost a job requirement! :-) because every once in a while I just have to throw on a pink flamingo costume and skate around in the Art Car Parade. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to go to some great places all over the world. I have a long list of countries though that I would love to visit. Next destination is Turkey and Greece and then hopefully the mountains of Mexico to see the annual Monarch butterfly migration. And Italy. Always Italy. I live in the Heights and love this part of town. I'm over-educated with lots of completely useless degrees and well read. I'm looking for someone similar who likes to have long conversations about Art, Life, Love, Godzilla movies, and a million other things over a glass of wine. I'd like to meet a man who is well-educated and well-traveled and is interesting to talk to. Someone who is familiar with the Arts as well as the Sciences and has an open mind. Someone who enjoys weird foreign films and exploring little hole-in-the wall ethnic restaurants. Just someone who I like spending time with, who I can travel with --- or just stay home with and grill steaks with. If you're with the right person, it doesn't really matter what you do: even going to Home Depot to shop for a ceiling fan can be fun. ......but maybe not installing it. Installing it is _never_ fun. No matter who you're with. [WHO writes these instructions???? WHERE does the red wire go? ARGHH!!!]
