I'm a recent transplant to the Bay who grew up in Boston. I'm close with my family who are all back on the east coast, so I end up flying back quite a bit. I also have an adorable little godson and some amazing friends back east, so it's great to get to see them!
I was a neuroscience major in college; I'm fascinated by the brain. Somehow, I now teach Algebra at a high school in Oakland (I know--it was your favorite subject!), and I absolutely love my students more than anything. Fighting for equality in education is something I'm incredibly passionate about; I'm getting my Master's Degree in Urban Ed. This is my first year teaching, and it's been rough, but I'm (kind of) getting the hang of it and am able to focus more on me--you know, going to the gym, getting more than six hours of sleep, and remembering to slow down and relax. When I'm not teaching, I love practicing yoga, relaxing with my co-workers at happy hour on Friday, and spending the weekends exploring or curled up reading a good book.
I tend to be draw to people who are in a place in life where they know what they want. I'm looking for someone who can make me laugh, who is kind to everyone, and who is intelligent. Smart is sexy ;)
