I moved to the Boston area from Virginia a couple of years ago and thought that I would give the online dating thing a shot...I figure, worst case scenario, I meet some interesting new people! I'm originally from Long Island and am a huge Mets fan, so the whole "Anti-Yankees" thing works well for me here in Boston! My absolute favorite things to do, especially during the summer, are going to baseball games, grabbing a drink along the water, going to concerts, and really just being outdoors! I do love the winters here in Boston too, though, although I've never been skiing! I hope to give that a shot one of these days! I'm one of those rare finds who truly loves the snow and the beach!
I work in Higher Education and have a Masters degree in Counseling. I went to JMU undergrad and GW for Grad School and absolutely loved both. I often think about taking a few more classes so that I can work in Guidance Counseling one day, but one thing at a time. I spend a lot of time working out (extra points if you like running and spinning!), working in cancer advocacy, and I hope one day to get a Doctoral degree (but that is much further down the line!) I enjoy the typical girly things like shopping, bad reality TV, etc., but am always up to kick back, relax and go to/watch a sports game!
As for me, I'm a down to earth, level headed girl who has her head on straight but who also loves to have fun. You're not going to find me posting self-portraits of myself in a bathing suit in front of my bathroom - I'm not into that (and if you're a match for me, you won't be either). I'm looking for someone who places high value on family (career and ambition are important too). Family is incredibly important to me and I need that same value in my match. I'm looking for someone who is happy in what they do, but also has incredible drive and ambition to move up. I'm looking for a guy that enjoys doing things together (of course) but also respects our independent girls/guys nights every now and again...someone who enjoys nights out at a sports bar, but is also flexible enough to enjoy a night in or dinner out on the town. I believe that it is important to know what you want and have the confidence and passion to go after it.
Getting to know someone through winks and emails can be tough - I would much rather get to know someone in person over a drink or cup of coffee (bonus points if you're a coffee drinker!), so feel free to ask!
