With that headline, I suppose I should start by talking about food. I love trying new foods, whether that means making them or just eating them, reading about food, and feeding people. I think all those things are a lot of fun, but they're also a great excuse for creating a simple opportunity to hang out or a direct connection to a culture or heritage. A very successful Saturday for me might be sleeping in a bit, hitting the Union Square market, and hosting a dinner party that night.
But beyond food. I'm big into theater because I like how it lets people connect with each other, but I'm not what you might expect from someone who says that. I've been working on the producing end of things ever since I realized it existed and my work involves a lot of computer skills and writing abilities.
I'm pretty laid back, but I'm always looking for what opportunity might come next and how I can get there--and can't see myself with someone who's not motivated in the same way.
I've been in NYC for about 6 years and am planning on staying here. Sure, that could eventually turn into suburbia or something, but for as long as I intend to continue building a career, this is where I need to be.
And... If you write me a note that indicates you put some thought into it (in other words, start a conversation--only saying "hi" isn't going to cut it... and use some capitalization and punctuation too!), I will write you back. I'd respond if you asked me a question while we were standing in line for the elevator together, so why wouldn't I treat you with the same respect here? Plus, if karma's a real thing, being polite is only going to pay off someday.
