I love to hike natural areas, especially the mountains. I grew up in western Michigan, but once I backpacked in Colorado, I fell in love with the mountains and big, open spaces. I also found my profession, which I dearly love altho I don't make a lot of money, but I've always been comfortable with my modest lifestyle. I'm really not a game-player, so please keep reading.
Botany (Flora-) is my passion, trying to make a difference in the natural world, and raise responsible, respectful young men. Hope you can figure this out, can't make it any more obvious. I also love to explore various cultures of the world through their natural environment, food, art, dance, and music. I do have days when I can take off since my (three) boys are older teenagers and have their own interests.
I've tried to be an a-(one) good community member and help with occasional non-profit fundraisers- my boys are now Eagle Scouts, raised 4-H livestock for (three) years, and finished up with FFA Ag mechanics. I enjoy amateur sports, especially kid's, much more fun than pro sports! I believe that the live outlook communication place is best, not the wahoo place! I was married for 22 years, but I have to look out for myself now, and yet keep a connection to my boys. I'm quite proud of their accomplishments, and excited about their futures.
Distance is obviously not a problem for me, even if it's Antartica- the research there is fascinating! I've lived all over the country and I enjoy meeting people from all over.
I will travel more in the future, I still want to explore so much of this country and a few places around the world, using botany and my interest in native cultures (festivals) as my excuse.
