Hello there! Let me first thank you for stopping by...
Now OK, first things first. After reading a lot of your profiles, I sense that I should get this out right up front:
1) I am single. Really, I am. No hidden wives, families, etc.
2) I own my own home (and it doesn't have wheels and license plates).
3) I am employed. Gainfully. Steadily.
4) I have never been arrested. I did get a red light camera ticket in 2010 (ridiculous) but that's my criminal history.
5) I do not have pictures of a shirtless me holding up a cellphone in front of the bathroom mirror with a filthy commode behind me (I've been told that is pretty common here).
So, having said that, What do I enjoy? Well, sitting still isn't one of them. I am a very active person in both my personal and professional life. I have recently embarked on a new career which I truly enjoy and it also allows me much time flexibility. In addition to working in the non-profit world, in my off hours I also serve on the boards of several other local non-profits and volunteer quite a bit. Because of this, I also enjoy attending many charity events/functions. What good is living a good life if you don't give back? Jackie Robinson said, "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." I can't really add anything to that.
Outside of that, I have a fantastic soon to be 21-year-old daughter who actually likes hanging out with her Dad (imagine that!). As a matter of fact, back in 2011, she jumped out of a plane with me! I know that she is my greatest accomplishment (and my favorite snowboarding partner). Physical fitness is pretty important to me. I have come to enjoy (that may be a strong word) yoga and I do try to get to the gym at least 4 to 5 days a week. I want to be the 75 year old guy that's still out doing things instead of sitting in a booth at Applebee's blowing on my soup.
I'm very connected to music, not that I'm a musician, I just usually have music with me just about wherever I go. My 80 GB iPod is nearing capacity. I do like karaoke, after a couple of beverages of course. Liquid courage and all. I'm big on concerts, mostly Indie Rock shows, featuring great little bands you may or may not have heard of, in small venues with small-ish crowds. However, I'm open to most other genres as well.
So, what am I looking for? I feel like we all have a certain number of days here on the planet so why waste any of them playing games and/or being miserable. Time is a finite thing. I'd like to look back at 95 without regrets. Now, what good is it unless you have someone to share the good, and not so good times with, right? I'd like to think we are all here looking for that right connection, certainly I am. I'd like to meet someone who is down for anything from horse races to baseball games, from a day at the dog beach to a night at a black tie event (perhaps even on the same day), from a night at the movies to sitting on the couch reading a book or watching TV (with a couple of Beagles at our feet).
My ultimate goal, and I think it should be everyone's, is to get off of this site (no offense to the people that run it). So, if you are still with me this far and would like to meet up for coffee or something a bit stronger...
I wish all of you success here in finding what you are searching for!!
