I am unique as they come, many say. I try to go to church every week and that translates to going about 2x a month. I look forward to each weekend because I always have something planned. In recent weeks I went on a hiking tour with a local park ranger, a 5k charity run, watched America's Got Talent live show, attended a gardening seminar (don't laugh!), had my own spa day (okay laugh!), watched a dog surfing contest, and went to my first spring training baseball game. In the months ahead I am planning things like kayak lessons, meteor storm watching, zip lining and obstacle course run, paintball, and surf lessons, to name a few. I would also love to take ballroom dancing lessons with my partner. Basically I like to do something new and different each week and try to lean on things that help me stay active and in shape. If I'm active I'm happy :) Now I need someone else to enjoy life with to be happier :) :)
I'm 38 years old and still single. Why some may ask? Well, the past 10 years I chose to play poker for a living and travel the circuit, something not really conducive to having a long term relationship and starting a family, something I dearly want as I enter a new phase in my life.
Now im changing my lifestyle to something more traditional. I just moved to Florida, from NJ/CA and absolutely love it here! I chose Florida because my parents and sister live here and, well, I'm a sucker for palm trees and the Atlantic Ocean. I currently landed a job with the county, which I am thrilled about because it's helping me rebuild my resume(cant really be slapping poker on the rez lol), I'm networking, and the job has terrific benefits which can help support a family, should things lead to that.
While I continue to play poker (I make way too much $$$ playing a game how can I give that up!) the biggest difference is I am staying put, not much traveling, and I am finally putting my college degrees to use (engineering and MBA).
I'm not exactly sure the career path I'm eventually going to take. I'm considering teaching mathematics since that is a strength of mine. And with poker to supplement my income I can still be the Breadwinner!
I have a beautiful baby boy who lives in California with his mother. I am currently going through the courts to get my rights as a father, specifically visitation and shared custody. I'm not sure how long that process is going to take, but each day seems like forever.
Having a boy has made me realize how precious life is, and how much I want to be a role model, a loving husband and a terrific father to several children. That all starts with finding a partner for life who shares similar values and goals. That's why I'm here!! Eventually, I want to make a great husband and enjoy wonderful children. So if starting a family isn't in your future we best not meet.
I put that I am looking for a woman between 24 and 44 years of age. Some may say I don't know what I want with such a wide age range. I know exactly what I want. I want to enjoy life, happiness, a beautiful loving partner, with wishes of having a wonderful family. I believe that can come from any woman of any age, so why restrict that.
While this is online dating, ironically, I believe a relationship is built in person. So if you're interested and Im interested back, Id love to take you out on a date sooner than later. Not over a $4 Starbucks coffee "meet and greet." I'd rather be more chivalrous on a first date, say over a glass of merlot in a nice relaxed setting. Consider me old fashioned like that.
Some final words- I absolutely love to cook. Exercising and eathing healthy are super important. Animals to me are so adorable. I have an American Pitbull who's incredibly kind and gentle and a lazy butt. I want to fall in love.
