ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I like two stroke motors, Monday Night Football and Steven Segal movies, dislike modern art museums and botanical gardens, am politically incorrect, socially conservative, and tend to be unapologetic about my masculinity. But I believe romance is the greatest gift humans have this side of Heaven and is worthy of shameless pursuit.

Your faith is a given. After that, I value the depth of your eyes and whether our hours of conversation feel like minutes. Time, after all, can be almost extra-dimensional when it’s shared by two whose lives are blanketed by the opportunities to navigate the waters of unanswered questions ... and the distance in between. You are precocious, demonstrative, mischievous; we amplify each others tendency to venture outside the box of conventionality because we understand intuitively - if not consciously - that life is about embracing tension than can ultimately yield a kindness, softness and gentleness that arises from the heart's painful and ecstatic depths - not spiritual platitudes. Your authenticity is as contagious as it is comforting.

My faith is deep, and embodies many layers and complexities. But lately it's about exploring the idea that most of us are a lot harder on ourselves than God is.... I've endured some tragedies, and have found that the surest way to find God - or at least His kindness, mercy and patience - is to embrace pain and sorrow, where He waiting right on the other side. I think this is where I get my sense of humor. It is definitely where I learned to to put feelings into words. I think I'd want to be with someone who deeply appreciates this. (Paradoxically, this dynamic leads to being able to deeply communicate without words.)

I was raised in Fresno, but escaped. I dreamed of playing baseball in college, but was kindly ushered off the team (the university's endowment funds were getting drained from all the home runs I was serving up). I immediately discovered the guitar.... and the joys and challenges of exploring it as a symphonic, solo instrument and, occasionally, as an instrument of chivalry (which reminds me.... does the rule about the man walking on the curb side of the street mean his footprints are the ones closer to the ocean?)

I do not possess a strong and defined sense of order and structure (e.g. accountant, CFO, office manager) and am not a neat freak (although I appreciate people who are.) So, while I do have pronounced logical tendencies (with a math credential to prove it), I prefer spending most of my free mental time connecting the dots in this eleven-dimensional universe, and relish the thought of sharing a coastline long enough to discuss them all...

Love Languages - Touch, Words affirmation

INFP on MB.

I've played Cypress Point Golf Club, provided entertainment for U.S. congressmen, the Speaker Of The House, executive boards of many Fortune 50 companies. I've dined at restaurants frequented by Sinatra (where you can spend $10,000), and have had a lengthy, one-on-one philosophical discussion with a president. These are all fun. They make great stories, and are very happening in places like LA where a social resume like this can get you places. But to reference Merle Haggard, I just can't escape the fact that put myself through college as a Teamster, singin' these workin' man blues. Nothing beats acreage and good fishing. ( If only the boys at the tackle shop sold Gucci gear and wer more in touch with their feelings............)
