Relatively new to Detroit, been here about a year. I am at the beginning of my second career, successful, ambitious, upwardly mobile (recently selected for the Detroit Athletic Club, elected to the Detroit Rotary board). Powerful personality, paid mostly for showing up and being myself. Public figure, entrepreneur, writer, teacher, organizer, community leader. Active in community development, public charities, and interfaith/intercultural work. Very busy, and I try to make every minute count, but I will always make time for you. High energy, intense, restless, creative, adventurous, charismatic, dynamic, driven, playful, optimistic, generous, affectionate. Reared in poverty, but found my own way up and out. Taken some falls, some big, some small, but always got back up and carried on, and climbed higher with every success. Think Sinatra's "That's Life." Very direct, sharp and quick witted, a bit cavalier, pragmatic, assertive, confident (can shade over into arrogance, but I am mindful of it). "Yes, I can!" is my motto. Think "Tigger" from Winnie the Pooh, but with sharp teeth and claws, and a serious agenda. Physically, emotionally, and intellectually fit. Emotionally accessible: I laugh and smile easily and often. Very masculine, but with a highly empowered feminine side. I live and work in downtown Detroit, the RenCen is my nightlight. I spend most of my money on training, and I travel light, as I move frequently (I expect at least three to five years here), so not much furniture at my place, and just basic bachelor pad. Interested in most outdoor activities (Adventure racing!), equally interested in the arts (DIA member, semi-professional musician). Big heart, compassion for others, much love to give.
I want YOU to be wonderful! Know yourself, and tell me about that. Share your interests. Be intellectually curious and capable. Be proud of yourself, talk about your dreams. Touch my heart and my mind, help me to share your vision, whatever that might be. I want to build a new dream with you. International/Intercultural interests and experience are a big asset. Be generous and loving, both personally and globally. Physical and mental fitness are crucial, I want you to be able to keep up with me, and my world can be somewhat challenging. Maybe your relationship style is facilitative and supportive, maybe more co-play and power-couple, maybe more independent and autonomous - do your thing, but do it well. No kids for now, too early in my career, and I won't settle for starting fourth or fifth on your priority list; but I am not completely closed to children later on. I love your stories and adventures. Feel free to talk about relationships. Be prepared for some spotlight, occasional formal/evening attire. Hungry for new skills and experiences, adaptable. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want to be able to easily spend a great deal of time with you, just talking and making love - be prepared to be the center of my world.
Relationally, I want to be partnered, supporting and encouraging one another to be our best selves. I don't mind dating looking for the right person, but I don't like one night stands, I want a lover. I send roses, buy surprise presents, texts and calls, remember birthdays and anniversaries, celebrate Valentine's Day, hold hands, sing love songs, slow dance. I make love to all of you, body heart, and mind. I have a massage table, love to use it, and, I am not too bad at it. I take excellent care of my partner as a point of both pride and pleasure. I need someone to care for and to love. I am happy enough left alone, like my solitude and freedom. But I am alone in the world, very little family, and very mobile, so almost all of my close friends are at a distance. My partner is the center of my world, my Axis Mundi, my true religion and Goddess. My life is going very well. But I ache with longing for my partner. Think Etta James "At Last."
