"Life is a big canvas and you should throw all the paint you can on it." I love that quote (Danny Kaye actually said it) and I like to think I live my life in that spirit. But the time has come to start a new canvas and I'm looking for someone to help me throw some paint. A few things you should know about me are that I am sincere and try to see something positive in every person and every situation; I tend to take people at face value; I believe in karma and that good will ultimately trump bad; I am both an introvert and an extrovert; I can be stubborn; I love being in nature, whether at the beach, in the country or in the mountains; I absolutely love being a woman and am a hopeless romantic; my guilty pleasures are pampering (myself and those close to me), really good pizza and chocolate; my favorite dessert is cheesecake; I'm a bit of a sci-fi nerd; I believe in showing affection and simple acts of kindness on a daily basis; and I believe that, unfortunately, "please", "thank you" and "I'm sorry" are the most under-utilized words in the English language. My interests are a bit eclectic, but whose aren't? As I mentioned above, I love the outdoors and all nature has to offer, including camping, backpacking and kayaking. I'm not a country-girl, per se, but I do feel more grounded on my retreats to the woods. I equally enjoy trying new restaurants, nights at the ballet or local theater, seeing a live band, watching a game at a local pub or weekends at the lake. I'm always open for trying and learning new things, within reason, of course. At home, I do enjoy a cuddle on the sofa with a good movie. Actually, a cuddle on the sofa with a bad movie can be good too; it all depends on the company. While at home I also enjoy cooking, especially for those close to me, and I'm really quite good at it. I see cooking as a means for self-expression and creativity and as such, I tend to use my intuition more than actual recipes. Most times that works...on occasion it doesn't, but that why we have restaurants! They say laughter is contagious and I like to laugh as much as possible -- laugh with people, on occasion at people, but most importantly, I can laugh at myself and, trust me, I give myself ample opportunity. Let's face it, as a race, we humans are a hilarious bunch and I fully appreciate the humor and irony. In the grand scheme of things life is very short so I believe in: apologizing when I should, letting go of what I can't change, learning from my mistakes, dreaming big, expressing gratitude every day, laughing out-loud, helping others, loving deeply and forgiving quickly. I'm looking for someone who values the same, someone who will be my best friend, who can enhance my life (not be my life) and someone who brings out the absolute best in me. If any of this strikes a chord with you, message me and we'll see what happens.
