Hi there! Let’s see…what should you know about me? Well, I’m very comfortable in social settings. I'm the kind of girl who strikes up a conversation with the person next to me in line at the grocery store. I think people notice quickly that I'm pretty easy to talk to. I also know how to listen though. My friends would describe me as intelligent, funny, honest, and dependable.
Work and school are very important to me, and I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of success in both areas. I work full time for the federal government, and I’m a full time graduate student (so I stay fairly busy!) I am in the process of obtaining my second master’s degree from CU (the first was in Criminal Justice, this one is in Counseling Psychology). And I previously spent six years working with teenagers in juvenile corrections (which definitely requires a sense of humor).
My favorite things to do for fun are go to concerts, comedy clubs, sporting events, and I also love playing cards and games (although I can get a bit competitive at times). I'm not the most "out-doorsy" girl you'll ever meet, but I do love to go fishing. And I don't mind the occasional hike, after all, Colorado is one of the most beautiful states.
I love listening to all kinds of music (except maybe techno). Lately I’ve been on kind of a 90’s kick, like Radiohead, Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews…I also like stuff like Amos Lee, Ben Harper, Colbie Caillat…But I’ll also listen to country, rap, rock or classical. I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I do enjoy sitcoms like Always Sunny and Big Bang Theory, and I’m a big Rachel Maddow/msnbc, History channel, and HGTV fan.
Downfalls? I’m not a great cook (but am willing to learn). I much prefer to go out to eat though… And I could probably stand to be more physically active (not for the sake of changing my appearance at all, but just to be more healthy). So if fitness is a huge part of your life (or at least if you expect it to be a huge part of mine) I may not be the girl who'll go to the gym with you.
Overall, I am very happy with my life and am comfortable with who I am, and I’m looking for someone who is also. I’d like someone who is proud of what they’ve accomplished, yet is still ambitious. Someone who enjoys what they do for a living. Someone who is kind to others, smart, and funny. Funny is a big one. I think if someone can make me laugh on a daily basis, then all the other more challenging things in life will be made a lot more bearable. Laughing definitely puts things in perspective.
