Hello, my name is Erin! I am an environmental consultant for an engineering firm in Oakland. Currently, I am working as an environmental monitor on a large-scale utility maintenance project, which is basically protecting the surrounding ecosystem while keeping the construction going--insert tree hugger joke here although I prefer Captain Planet team member:)
ABOUT ME:
I am patient and emphatic, so do not anger easily. I am a caring person that will wake you up on your birthday with a cupcake and balloon because the little things are important. My nature is a mixture of sweet and spicy - sweet enough to be kind and considerate, but spicy enough to have a wickedly sarcastic sense of humor. (It bites, so you'll need to be able to bite back.) I have been called stubborn at times, but that is just misinterpreted self-reliance and strong will--please note dripping sarcasm:) I can also dish out some pretty irreverent jokes and am not offended easily. My jobs are often working with all men construction crews and I have proudly made them blush a time or two:)
Traveling is a big part of my lifestyle. I like all kinds of trips. I have done the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal hiking for three weeks, but also have spent a week in St. Thomas laying on the beach and snorkeling all day. My most recent trip was to Ireland back in September. Weekend road trips (i.e. driving up the coast or hitting up Tahoe) are also pretty rad!
Volunteering was always an important priority in my community growing up in Pittsburgh, PA. I have done five marathons with Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and am currently training for the Aids Lifecycle in June. I have also done a lot of work with Engineers without Borders and the Marin Marine Mammal Center.
For fun, I love to explore Bay Area randomness:) I have gone to Burning Man, Crucible events, Bay to Breakers, some great shows and Maker’s Fair. Aside from that, I enjoy reading, catching up on shows (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Archer) with Netflix or cooking up some home brew when I have the time.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR:
The man I am looking to date is caring; he is someone that family and friends refer to as being sweet. He is intelligent and strives to get my infectious giggles going. He loves to travel and absorbs his surroundings regardless of where in the world we are. He is spontaneous and playful, taking advantage of my openness to new experiences. He will surprise me with a fun adventure as a present instead of a material possession. Most importantly he is a man that knows who he is, where he is going and looking for a woman to build a life with.
