Shy and quiet, I've put a lot of time into my career and know that I'm seriously missing a vital part of myself. Usually reserved, I am looking for a person who is sensible, witty, unafraid to let her opinions known, and someone who is more than able to best me intellectually.
The best way I can describe myself is that I am comfortably the amalgamation of a series of funny and odd happenings. I am an American born Chinese who attended elementary in Chinatown, middle school in predominantly Jewish and Protestant community, and high school in a community where 99.5% of the population was Hispanic. I now teach math at the same high school which is probably the most normal part.
Prior to my career, I attended UCLA where I started off as a Physics major, switched a few times here and there, decided to learn Japanese so I could relax and learn a new writing system, and then ended up majoring in Japanese. Of course, I did the only rational thing at that time: I decided to be a physics teacher. Studying for the proficiency exams led me to realize that I liked math more, and I ended up being a a math teacher. It would be great if that was it, but in the seven year career I've had, I've taught now almost every level of math at the high school level, an SAT/CAHSEE prep style class, and computer science - the last of which I had a very limited background in.
I'm now looking to add another obfuscating layer to my life to make it more interesting.
