I've struck a balance between being an outdoorsy, adventurous person and a "having fun at home" type guy. A bit of a history buff and a computer geek. I really like being outdoors though. Going to the beach, hiking, snorkeling, camping, going to Balboa park...That's what I love. I'm originally from Quebec, Canada. I'm very proud of my heritage and while I've lived in the states long enough to lose my accent, I will always be a Canuck at heart. You might be asking yourself: "How does a Canadian end up in the U.S. Marine Corps!?" You'll just have to ask and find out! A lot of people seem to assume the worst as soon as they see what I do for a living and it's a real shame because they couldn't be more wrong about who I am and what I'm like. But everyone says that, right? I don't honestly expect anyone to take my word for it. Just find out for yourself. I love to travel and just returned from South America. I went Surfing in Peru (Pico Alto), toured Lima, Peru and Guayaquil, Ecuador, and went scuba diving in the Galapagos Islands. It was amazing and I had some of the most memorable experiences of my life there. Needless to say, adventure and travel are kind of a big deal to me. I work in an extremely technical field. My job is Quality Assurance for helicopter maintenance. I am my commands resident expert for structural, hydraulic and flight control systems. It's also my job to ensure the mechanics are being properly trained and are doing the job right. It is a position that has opened many doors for me once I get out of the military in 2013.
