Hi! I'm a second-generation Turkish-American in the essential sense: I was born in Turkey, raised in West Virginia, and I feel like I have a foot in both worlds. I'm Muslim; my faith is my moral compass and guides my decisions in life (sometimes even small ones!). I'm very close to my family and an ideal match would probably be, too.
I love my job (associate at a law firm) and building my career is pretty important to me. My free time can be somewhat limited, but I enjoy it! I’m currently in the grips of a mad opera phase; I’ve been trying to get to one whenever I can. (The Met is doing La Boh?me next season!) I also enjoy plunking on my piano keyboard (now learning the Adagio in G minor); running and ellipticalling; watching C-SPAN (Washington Journal!); and getting the download from my daily blogs.
I believe my close friends would describe me as thoughtful, positive, driven, and somewhat quirky. Maybe a little opinionated too! I read pretty avidly on topics I feel passionately about: politics, Turkey, opera, and good food. When I go out, I generally prefer low-key to high-energy. In a relationship, I'm looking for a co-conspirator in life, love, the universe, and everything. How about you?
