I've been noticing patterns here lately. First off, pretty much everybody likes eating at nice restaurants, drinking good wine, traveling, and relaxing with a good movie every once in a while. It's a great thing we all have so much in common!
I love the holidays and there is nothing I like more than the annual family christmas gathering when everyone sings around the fireplace. We gather from all around the world and there are close to 70 of us these days with all the cousins and nephews....
When I am not with the family, I leave my footprint all over the world to discover new cultures and experiences. That said I am now settled in NY where I feel completely at home. A good week end day can be spent canoeing on [or sometimes in] the rapids of the colorado river or having "ethnic cuisine" experiences with friends in the city. My idea of a great time is the winter snow hike i did in the Olympic Mountains all the way to the warm springs..imagine the release!
Cooking is also a way for me to explore. Next up, I'll be trying an old family classic duck recipe for the first time. I hold it from my father who held it from his father before him. They say the secret is in the shallot, red wine and creme fraiche sauce. I can’t wait and to see how it comes out.
