I'm originally from the DC metro area but have been enjoying living by the beach in San Diego for the last four years. My office is just down the road and as a result I commute via the beach and carry sand between my toes for the rest of the day.
I love college basketball and follow my college team really closely during the season. Even though I'm cheering in a bar across the country when watching games these days, I still feel like my participation will help push my team over the edge to victory.
I've been fortunate to travel a lot for fun and as part of past jobs. After college I lived in Namibia and worked for a conservation organization and most recently before returning to graduate school I worked on environmental policy in Antarctica. Over the last few years I've spent half my time on Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii and those places have become second homes with amazing friends and family. I've just finished a large chunk of work out there and am looking forward to reconnecting with San Diego.
Soaking up outside time is key. I really enjoy taking a walk, throwing the football, going camping, and playing bocce ball- a sometimes-hidden talent. Mostly, I just love hanging out with friends.
