Hi! - Let's see, I'd say I'm equal parts city dweller and outdoorsy guy. I'm sarcastic, opinionated, liberal, smarter than your average bag of rocks and often funny.
I always vote. I read a bunch (LA times, New Yorker, fictiony stuff). I'm rather dependent on NPR to keep me sane while driving (haltingly) around our fair city. I giggle at hipsters but have no problem laughing at myself from time to time.
The idea of going fishing bores me.
I like exploring new restaurants, art openings and public libraries (I love the new Silverlake library!)
I'll drive 5 hours to go mountain biking or kayaking.
I've got this crazy idea that people should be able to do what they want with themselves - marry who they want, etc - as long as it doesn't harm other people. Individual choice and responsibility. Oh, and good manners.
I don't always write in full sentences.
I like to give smart wool hiking socks as white elephant gifts.
I'm not looking for hipster-cool, rather independently-elegant.
Somebody who doesn't think she needs to wear make-up on a regular basis and takes care of her body (sans "artificial" improvements). Somebody who leads an active, smart life and has no interest in being a contestant on a reality show (exception: the amazing race). Somebody who says hello to their mailperson and helps the check-out person at, (yes, we all go there) Trader Joes bag their groceries.
