Sometimes quiet, always thoughtful, and often silly, are qualities I see in myself and value in others. I love school, and love it so much that I have luckily found a career as a professor at a liberal arts college. It's a joy to spend everyday exploring ideas with students and colleagues. I grew up in Philadelphia but have lived in New York and Chicago. While those are amazing cities, my heart belongs to Philly--the food, the music, the art, it's gritty sense of humor (one of my favorite Philly things is to watch Rocky every summer on the steps of the Art Museum). I've been lucky to have the opportunity to travel to such places as France, Ireland, Scotland, Rome, South Africa, Zambia. I unabashedly love TV, movies, and all forms of storytelling. Running along Kelly Drive, BYOs, Union Transfer, Monday night movies at the Troc are just a few things I also enjoy when not at work.
Sensitivity, open-mindedness, adventurousness, creativity, and a really good sense of humor are qualities I treasure for in my friends and the new people I meet.
