I hate this part (don't you??), but here goes: I moved (back) to NY a few years ago, after several detours out West and up North. Up until recently, I taught Middle and High School Health Education, outside of Boston. Teaching a bunch of teenagers about sex, drugs and RnR (ok, ok, not ACTUALLY RnR) makes people believe you're either a saint...or completely nuts!! I'd like to think it's a combo of the two.
Basic interests/hobbies: it seems like taking long walks on the beach, cooking, travelling, wine-tasting, etc., are either universally enjoyed (or are the "cliche" SUPPOSED-to-be-enjoyed activities), and, although there's nothing inherently wrong with any of them, of course(lol), I'll just emphasize that I really love Broadway musicals, tennis, softball (both of which I played competively in HS), 1950s sitcoms, volunteering (from the Alzheimer's Association to politcal causes/candidates) reading and freelance writing. Plus, I LOVE just going out for a great steak every once in a while (Sparks is my favorite steakhouse), though I'll eat almost anything. Yet, sometimes, I just like staying inside for an entire day, reading, napping and watching TV, just to be lazy.
I'd like to meet a successful man in his field, who is at least college-educated. I don't really have a "type" when it comes to looks, but my 3 "must-haves" are that he's smart, emotionally stable and has a good sense of humor. Yet, being an emotionally and financially stable adult should NOT preclude one from being able to get in touch with his/her 'inner child' and be really silly at times, which is why I love children and dogs so much ( with the 'right' person, I can be very, very silly and very, very affectionate). In fact, when I was 3/4 yrs old, my Grandmother nicknamed me "Lovebug," because I constantly crawled all over my parents, my grandparents, etc. - basically any adult whom I knew and trusted. And I'm still very much that "child," at heart.
I like people who are generally kind and non-judgmental towards others, and while I love the outdoors and playing sports, I don't need (nor would particularly want) someone who works out 24/7 with a perfect build - a little "paunch" is ok by me!
