ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

A little about me: I moved (back) to NY a few years ago, after several detours out West and up North, for both school and work. Up until recently, I taught Middle and High School Health Education, as well as being a school counselor, outside of Boston. Teaching a bunch of teenagers about sex, drugs and RnR (ok, ok, not ACTUALLY RnR.... :) makes people believe you're either a saint...or completely nuts!! I'd like to think it's somewhere in the middle of the two. I'm currently doing some freelance writing/editing, until I finish my MSW (Master's in Social Work).

Now, it seems as though certain activities, like cooking gourmet meals, travelling to exotic places, going wine-tasting, attending museum openings, yada, yada, are the "IT" activities in the world of online dating (I've always wondered how so many people seemingly have the time to leisurely traipse around the world, watching sunsets and sipping wine, while also holding down a full-time job, attending to family obligations, paying bills -- you get the gist -- and STILL have time for 'Match'?!?). I don't mean to make fun...well, maybe a little, haha. So anyway, with that said, I'll just emphasize that I really love tennis, softball, hiking, skiing, Broadway shows, 1950s/classic sitcoms, going TO the movies, reading and freelance writing. Plus, I love going out for a really good steak every once in a while (Sparks is my favorite steakhouse), and trying out new restaurants - esp. when you discover a great dive with someone special. Yet, at times, I thoroughly enjoy just staying inside for an entire day, reading, napping and watching TV, just to be lazy.

Mostly, in relationships (romantic or otherwise), I love to laugh and make others laugh (I even did a brief stint of stand-up comedy - it on was a dare! I loved it, but it was the most terrifying thing I've ever done, yikes!!). Also, with the right person, I can truly let go and become very silly and affectionate, as I'm still very much a child at heart. And I love that in a partner as well,

I'd like to meet a successful man in his field, who is at least college-educated. I don't really have a "type" when it comes to looks, but my 3 "must-haves" are that he's smart, stable (emotionally and financially) and has a good sense of humor. I also tend to gravitate towards those who are generally kind, non-judgmental and sincere. And while I love the outdoors and playing sports, I don't need (nor would particularly want) someone who works out 24/7 with a perfect build - a little "paunch" is ok by me!

Favorite things:

Tennis, hiking/walking, skiing, dogs, classic 50s sitcoms, reading, freelance writing, Broadway shows/plays, trying new restaurants....did I mention dogs?
