How to begin? Hmmmmmm. Alright, here goes.
I am a Womens Clothing Designer, originally from the east coast. I lived and worked in New York for ten years. After that much time, I began to feel a bit stagnant and became eager for a new challenge. When a job opportunity came out of nowhere and presented me with the chance to move to California, I couldn’t pass it up! I packed my bags and headed west in Dec ’11.
It’s been a really exciting and challenging transition so far. California feels more and more like home to me with every passing day.
I have strong ties to my family and friends back east. It’s very important to me to keep those relationships active and have contact with them often. I’ve been told that I have great friends because I am a great friend. That’s a compliment I gladly accept.
Friends have described me as kind hearted, loyal, down to earth, funny and easy to get along with. I’m highly motivated in my career, creative….a perfectionist when it comes to my career and extremely dedicated. All in all, I’d like to think that’s a pretty good mix.
That might actually be one of the main reasons I’ve opted to join match. I have reached a great place in my life. I have a successful career, wonderful network of friends and family …..and a life that is significantly more balanced that it was back in the big apple. I would love to meet someone to share life with and, in time, build a family. (My parents have been married for nearly 40 years…..talk about inspiration!)
Wow....all of this is coming off way to formal. I'm a very laid back person with a pretty quick wit. Enjoy working out, travelling, checking out new resturaunts (feel like I've barely scratched the surface here in LA). Love watching documentaries (Herb and Dorothy, Crazy Love and The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom are three of my favorites). Taste in music pretty much runs the gamut: Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Paul Simon, Old school reggae, Billie Holiday, Friendly Fires, Lykke Li, Robyn, Willie Nelson...it's kind of all over the place.
My basic rules of thumb:
Say Please and Thank you.
Be nice to other people.
Give back.
Get your work done
And for heaven's sake...don't take things too seriously.
