About me:
I'd describe myself, first and foremost, as a kind, genuine guy. I'm compassionate, curious, intelligent, and pleasant. I can geek out when it comes to topics involving science, mathematics, philosophy.. I'd say I'm laid-back on a day-to-day basis but determined and driven when it comes to things that involve my work/career....I'm happy with what I've accomplished and like to keep myself challenged. I'm aware of my accomplishments but I'm careful to let things go to my head...I believe there's a fine line between egotism and self-confidence.
I moved to LA in the beginning of November for a job in the field of space exploration after finishing my physics PhD in Florida. I had some reservations about moving to LA (would have preferred the bay area) but the city is quickly growing on me. I have a few friends who already live in the area but I'm more than happy to meet new people.
In my spare time I enjoy good conversation with friends over cup of french-pressed coffee/espresso. I play guitar/piano, paint/draw, and engage in various forms of exercise to wind down from the long days at work. I enjoy cooking and can throw together an excellent meal when I'm preparing something for more than myself. I've been told my Mayan hot-cocoa and creme brulee are to-die-for. I'm looking forward to meeting people with which to hike the trails around LA. I enjoy travelling but have done so, in the past, more for business than for pleasure...there's a long list of places I want to visit including Nepal/Bhutan, Norway, and Peru.
I know this description may seem kind of dry but, let me assure you, I'm lively and excitable in person, especially once I've warmed up to you... at this point, I'm just trying to provide an honest depiction of "who I am." What I'm looking for:
Someone I can be comfortable with, have a good laugh, and interesting conversation. She should be trustworthy, understanding, and empathetic. She's clever, kind, intelligent, and gorgeous (at least in my eyes...I don't subscribe to the commercialized depiction of attractiveness and believe beauty truly does exist in the eye of the beholder). There's nothing more attractive than a woman who can spark my curiosity spiritually and intellectually. She knows how to have fun, is open-minded about trying new things, and is as curious about the world around her as I am.
