So here's the story: I'm not looking for Romeo exactly -- just someone who makes my heart pound and my head spin -- minus the meddling in-laws and tragic ending. That said, I DO like a guy with a little edge. Give me the choice between the model-type with whitened teeth or the cute guy in the baseball hat holding a beer, and I'm going for the guy in the ball cap -- every time. I'm looking for smart, cute, funny, sweet -- REAL. And if you happen to have blue eyes and dark hair, please move to the front of the line. If your profile has multiple pictures of you holding a big fish or your username has the number 69 in it, mmm... not so much.
I've been divorced for three years and have been slowly re-entering the dating scene. I teach high school English (now you understand the R&J references:), and don't want/need any drama in my life beyond what I encounter everyday with teenagers and their hormones. As for my personality, I would describe myself as self-assured and witty with a little sass thrown in. I seem to have the unusual ability to find the humor in even the most unlikely situations -- even on my worst day I can usually muster at least a little dark humor.
My kids would tell you that I'm firm but loving, have reasonable expectations, and that I'm big on personal responsibility and honesty. They would also tell you that I can be a goof, that their friends love being at our house, and that I'm a pain because I limit their technology and expect them to pick up their socks. You should know that kids and relationship will be kept separate. I get kid-free weekends and evenings regularly, so we'll have plenty of time to see where this is going.
