I have a life long passion for learning, try to look for the humor in any situation, and am still regularly amazed by how fascinating and yet ridiculous life can sometimes be. I grew up in California and DC and loved living in them both. I also have a keen interest in international affairs, which has taken me to some interesting parts of the world from Latin America, to Asia, to Africa, and the Middle East. I thought I'd become a chef growing up but decided that turning a hobby into a job would take all the fun out of it. While I still love to cook and host dinner parties, it proved to be the right decision since I really enjoy what I do now and like to think I have a positive impact in the world through that work. Before I moved back to DC for grad school at Georgetown I postponed the "real world" to travel abroad and work out west as a rafting and fly fishing guide. Some of my favorite trips for fun have included backpacking around New Zealand, scuba diving off the coast of Borneo, going on safari in Tanzania, and sailing around the Galapagos Islands. While I’m always up for finding new adventures around DC or further away, I also appreciate my downtime reading or watching Netflix at home. I have a full and active life with great friends and lots of wonderful experiences so meeting someone to share that life with is about the only missing ingredient at this point. If any of this resonates with you and you think we might enjoy chatting then I look forward to hearing from you.
