Fifteen (not so) random things about me...
1) As a baby I was kissed by two presidents.
2) I used to collect Todd Goldman posters.
3) I work with a blind pianist.
4) I never use the word "awesome."
5) My uncle was captain of the first African team ever to win a match at the FIFA World Cup.
6) I met Tupac Shakur. Twice.
7) I know the entire script of "Le Pere Noel est une ordure" by heart.
8) I once ate 24 scoops of ice cream on a dare by my brother-in-law to beat a famous Tunisian ice cream parlor's record.
9) My weight (in pounds) happens to be the same as my IQ.
10) My love stories are like movie scripts.
11) When I was 18 months old I could identify car brands simply by looking at their hood emblems. This was all the more bizarre as no one in my family taught me that or was even remotely into cars.
12) I once had dinner with Quincy Jones. I spent the entire night listening to him talk about women.
13) For my sister's 30th birthday I arranged to have 30 of her closest friends and family members surprise her at the summit of a glacier in the middle of August.
14) I get goose bumps every time I see the opening title sequence of "Mo' Better Blues."
15) I make a mean chocolate cake, following the recipe I was given by my grandmother.
Me: Multicultural, multilingual, well-traveled, articulate, creative. Blessed with wonderful friends and family. Very loyal, determined, confident, funny (all of my friends seem to think so ;) Strong musical ear (it's part of my work), altruistic, compassionate, caring, resourceful. Complex yet not complicated. Very honest and reliable. A forward thinker and a non-conformist. A man with principles who adheres to them. The words honor, respect, and tolerance mean a lot to me. The words chauvinism, patriotism, and prejudice do not. I'm far from being perfect nor would I ever consider myself as such, yet I strive to be the best person I can be. I can honestly say that I've had an amazing life so far, and the only element missing to make it complete is the right woman by my side ;)
** One more thing: I'm as real as can be, everything on my profile is 100% accurate, as I don't see the point in presenting an idyllic, virtual version of one's true essence. I hope you share this point of view!
