There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all of the pointless drama and the people who create it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. After all, life is too short to be anything but happy...
This is where I'm at, simply looking to have a peaceful, happy existence that involves good people and a lot of laughing and a few spikes of adventure thrown in now and again to keep things interesting. Adventure to me can be a range of activities - I love to travel to new places, spend time outside, and surround myself with positive people.
I am a contradiction - a realist who see's the world through rose colored glasses. What I mean by this is that I understand and accept most of the realities of our world but prefer to seek out the positive of every situation where I can. My friends say I am too nice. I prefer this to the alternative.
I love my life and feel blessed for all I have, especially my two grown kids who are wonderful young adults that I am so proud of and absolutely love hanging out with when I can. Their fresh perspective on the world is still intact, which is so refreshing in our negative world.
I work at a privately held marketing agency and thoroughly enjoy the world of marketing consulting. The variety of work makes every day a new and exciting challenge and I get the opportunity to release my creativity every day. It keeps me busy during the day but I stay committed to keeping my weekends free of work.
I moved to Reston this past spring. I like the nearby convenience of everything, love walking and riding the WOD, and love having a Whole Foods nearby. One day I would love to live abroad somewhere for a bit - maybe Italy or Spain?
What am I looking for in a match? I guess someone who is like minded, peaceful, active, happy. Someone who accepts me as I am and can find a way to love my quirks - the things my best friends find endearing about me. I tend to like salt of the earth type of people who are outgoing and like to play. I have no problem being at home, actually enjoy it, but always want to get out at least a couple times a week for something fun. I like people who like to teach and share their experiences or knowledge, opening my eyes to experiences in the world I haven't yet had. And my match definitely would like to laugh and make me laugh. I’m looking for a person of character who can be a good friend and appreciates the simple things, likes to have fun and is up for occasional adventures.
