I'd like to think that I am funny and open -- however most people prefer a different cup of tea when it comes to dry humor. It's the Floridian coming out in me I guess. Given my chosen profession I find myself traveling alot, but then again these are countries that most people don't want to travel to on vacation. I will say though that these guys here in Afghanistan are sitting on a gold mine if they would just stop shooting at us and open up a ski resort in these mountains....they'd make a fortune! As it stands though the thought of snowboarding in full kit with weapon just isn't as appealing as it may sound. :)
That's right folks, believe it or not....there is a guy who likes to cook. I don't know what to tell you, there's just something appealing about cooking food. Maybe it's the creative side in me coming out, who knows. I would love to say "yeah Hawaii is great I go out and do x, y, and z all the time etc etc etc"....however I haven't been on the island long enough to really enjoy anything that it has to offer. I showed up in December of 2010, and left shortly after for Afghanistan. When people ask me "so how is living in Hawaii?" I usually respond "I'll let you know when I actually get to live there".
Who I am looking for? Hmm....honestly the first thing that always catches my eye is the ability to make me laugh. I enjoy good conversation whether it be deep and intelligent or something off the wall like arguing if Han Solo shot first or not (which he did). In reality I am here in Afghanistan, so obviously me coming by and taking someone out on a date or going to the beach is really out of the question for now. What I am looking for is to start a conversation with someone and see where it leads. I'm coming back to the Island in late March / Early April so who knows what can happen in between know and then.
