Where to begin...energetic, happy, hard-working, try to make the best out of every situation. I've lived in the US for 16 years now and love all it has to offer. I previously worked and lived in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and prior to that, a childhood of travel and new homes with my father's career as a Royal Marine Officer, although the house and the furniture is always the same on a Navy base, so that was always quite amusing...."Mum, have we really moved?!"
I have a true talent- I can recite the NATO phonetic alphabet! Learnt it at age 5..Pretty funny!
I'm a trained ballet dancer and try to squeeze in at least one open class at Boston Ballet each week, although that's been tough with my schedule. I'm probably the biggest klutz you'll ever meet, though. Constantly falling over and bashing into things.
Have completed a couple of Half Ironmans. Enjoyed the destinations(San Juan and Austin), meeting new people and the overall experience and commraderie, much more than just getting to the finish line as fast as possible.
I like to get outside every day- rain, snow or shine...running ( 14 marathons- 6 Boston - NYC twice....)...hiking, sailing,, windsurfing, swimming, cycling, winter camping, x-country skiing - terrified of heights- no downhill for me. I'll be at the bar.
I love to cook, preferably with tons of garlic and olive oil (and eat, so watch your plate!) ...I have a voracious appetite. Multiply that by 100 if I've just been swimming.
I love to go to the cinema, relax with friends and family ( hard- they are all overseas;(), host dinner parties, snuggle on the couch with a great bottle of wine, hike in NH or VT, pretty much anything - it doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing- its the company that matters.
I can also be found practicing yoga when I have a spare hour....I particularly enjoy heated or vinyasa yoga.
My ideal Sunday would be a lie in ( I love to sleep)...great coffee and the paper, a long run or yoga class, long brunch with friends (Bellini or mojito anyone)...a nap, a great book or film...and somebody to enjoy it with.
I'm a confident woman and also quite independent- I went to boarding school in England aged 6, so I didn't really have a choice. Although I'm pretty good at amusing myself, I'm really looking forward to finding someone to share my downtime with...
I'm very fortunate to have a lot of both female and male friends all across the globe and I'd walk over hot coals for any of them.
My mum and dad moved every 6 months, hence the extensive list of hot spots below. I've lived in approx 50 different homes.
I have one older brother and he was at the boys boarding school up the road, therefore we've always been very close. He and my Brazilian sister-in-law and niece and nephew currently live in London- so I'm there for events, birthdays, whenever possible.
I love to get up and go at a moments notice for the weekend -current fav hotspots?- NH for x country skiing and winter camping ( am obsessed with the salty freeze dried REI food ), Miami for sun music, NYC for the theatres, buzz and the Italian restaurants, London for everything, Caribbean for sailing and the Painkiller cocktail, Amsterdam for the beer, museums and people watching, Paris for the food and the romance, Ptown for the restaurants/ art galleries/ beaches, my bed for a long nap......
I consider myself very thoughtful, giving, spiritual.... And get myself into trouble assuming everyone else is the same.
You? You’re well rounded, loyal, have a great sense of humor, are sensitive, dynamic, ambitious, and are looking for your partner in crime. You’re kind and generous-the person that people call when they need help moving or at 4am with a flat tyre!! I look forward to meeting you and to creating hilarious memories-end note-I was much too close for comfort to the first Marathon Monday bomb....I'm ready to get out there and live
