Though I love the LA beaches and sunshine, I am a Colorado girl through and through. I adore the outdoors – hiking, biking, running, volleyball, Frisbee on the beach (or anywhere there's space really... it's a shame LA doesn't have more parks) – give me fresh air, sunshine, and the great outdoors, and I am happy as can be!
My favorite thing to do when I go back home is fly small planes with my dad. I have quite the sense for adventure, and I hope to get my pilot's license too one day. In case you couldn't tell, I am upbeat, energetic, and optimistic. I like to see the best in people, though I have a tendency for dry humor and sarcasm. I take life with a grain of salt and find that laughing is a terrific way to spend one's time. I can often be found humming or outright singing a tune, as there is ALWAYS one stuck in my head. And I've also been known to bust out laughing, unprompted, because of a joke in my head. It makes for never a dull moment!
I work in journalism and I love my job. I'm very passionate about storytelling. I think it's how we live our lives, make sense of it, and create meaning out of it. Everyone has a story – everyone wants a story. It's all about story! Don't you just love it? Well I do, so if you don't, I'm sure I'll love it enough for the both of us.
Jazz music and chocolate are my weaknesses. Dark chocolate, specifically. And Jamie Cullum is my favorite musician, though I love many. He is amazing – and probably one of the best live performers I have ever seen.
I love to travel and there is so much of the world I have left to see! I want to visit Australia, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, and China at some point (sooner rather than later, hopefully!). I studied abroad in Paris when I was in college, as I have always keenly loved the French language (and let's be honest, their food. And wine. Heavenly!) London feels like my home outside the US because I have family there and have spent a solid amount of time there over the last decade of my life.
ALSO! What I'm looking for:
Intelligence (but humility!) and humor are two of the sexiest things to me. I want to be able to have a great conversation with you where I laugh because of your effortless charm and intuitive understanding of the hilarious ironies in people and in life. Subtle humor, wit, and well-timed/ well-played sarcasm are great.
I value people who are genuine and authentic. I'm also a bit of a romantic so if you can sweep me off my feet, all the better!
Basically, I'm hoping to meet someone I can laugh with, learn from, and take on adventures with me. I really like tall guys (or at least taller than me!).. and I'm learning I have a thing for blondes. I hope you're out there Mr!
